Malaucène has gradually become a large town, continuing the same industrial activity for four centuries with the Papeteries de Malaucène, specialising in the manufacture of cuffs for cigarette filters. Agriculture has developed in parallel and for some years now tourism has been part of Malaucène's resources. As you stroll through the streets of Malaucène, you will be able to admire beautiful residences from the 16th to the 18th century, old fountains and wash houses. On the Cours Isnards you will find a succession of restaurants, café terraces, hotels and numerous shops.
Malaucène is the starting point for many walks and horse rides to the Mont Ventoux. (Don't miss the superb walk that takes you to the panoramic site of the Calvary). Many leisure activities are available on site to entertain young and old.
It is here, that every Wednesday, the market settles. An opportunity to buy the famous Ventoux cherries, "blanches", "burlats" or "coeur de pigeon" which have made its reputation, but also asparagus, apricots and other local products.
